How to Fix: e-landing-page-sitemap.xml, can be read but has errors

e-landing-page-sitemap.xml is a kind of sitemap that is submitted to Google search console by some SEO plugins (like Yoast Plugin) for improving your website visibility on search engine and this type of error shows only when your WordPress website has no landing page created by Elementor Plugin that’s why this type of errors shows in Google Search console when you submitted a sitemap for your website.

What is Sitemap?

A sitemap is nothing but a file that maintains a complete list of your website’s post, pages, categories, tags, etc. Submitting a sitemap is a good practice for increasing your visibility on search engines because a sitemap has complete information about a website. In simple words, you can say that it is a resource identifier for a website.

What is the use of sitemap?

A sitemap of the website helps Web Crawlers (Spider/Bot) of search engines like Google, Bing, Yahoo, etc. to index your posts, pages, etc. in search engines for the visibility of the search result. When your post will index in search engines it helps to get more organic traffic to the website and it helps in SEO (Search Engine Optimization) too.

How to fix these e-landing-page-sitemap.xml errors?

When I open my Google search console and checking the sitemap for my site I saw an error for an e-landing-page-sitemap.xml which simply shows that it can be read but has errors (see image).

Just follow the below steps to remove this type of error from the main sitemap of your website.

Step 1

First of all, Open your WordPress dashboard, go to Yoast SEO, and select the “Search Appearance” option.

Step 2

After that, select the “Content Types” option. The settings on this page allow you to specify what the default search appearance should be for any type of content you have. Here you will get to see four options

  • Posts (post)
  • Pages (page)
  • Landing Pages (e-landing-page)
  • My Templates (elementor-library)

Now go to the Landing Pages option and select the “No” option for “Show Landing Pages in search results?” and then click on the “Save Changes” option.

Step 3

Now go to the Google Search Console, select the sitemap option, and then click on the sitemap again and you will get to see that error has been fixed from the sitemap section. If the update does not reflect on the sitemap area then simply delete the existing site and then again submit the sitemap, just type sitemap.xml after your website URL, and in the updated files of sitemap that error will disappear.
