Clash of Clans June Update 2025 – New Defences & Ice Block Spell
A fresh update for Clash of Clans lands in June 2025. Supercell is calling it the “Let’s Get Crafty” update. Maintenance is underway and will reset replays after about 45 minutes. Here’s what’s new and why it matters.

Crafted Defences
Town Hall 17 players can now build temporary defences using the Crafting Station. There are three new options:
- Hook Tower: Lures attackers close and stuns them, but it won’t grab Siege Machines.
- Flame Spinner: Spins and shoots flames to burn nearby foes.
- Crusher Mortar: Hurls huge mortars to crush enemy troops.
You can build up to three at once, but only one can be active at a time. Each has three upgrade modules that you choose from. These crafted defences arrive in phases lasting about three months.
Ice Block Spell
This is a new Dark Elixir spell unlocked at Town Hall 14 (with a level 7 Dark Spell Factory). It wraps your troops in a shield that blocks nearly all damage, but it also pauses their actions. It’s perfect for shielding part of your army while others push ahead. Each spell level boosts protection.
Cookbook Feature
A new third tab in the Army Training screen now lets you pick from:
- Starter Armies: Simple troop combos based on your Town Hall.
- Featured/Creator Armies: Special setups from events or content creators.
The cookbook unlocks at Town Hall 4, with creator armies appearing from Town Hall 10 onward.
New Upgrade Levels
Select troops now get stronger:
- Balloon and Rocket Balloon reach level 12 at TH17.
- Lava Hound up to level 7 at TH16.
- Druid to level 5 at TH17.
- Battle Blimp to level 5 at TH15.
- Frosty boosts from level 11 to 15 at TH17.
All remaining Wall segments can now be maxed at level 18
Balance Adjustments
A range of updates to make gameplay smoother:
- Ice Hound freeze now lasts 3.75 seconds at all levels.
- Grand Warden Eternal Tome lasts 0.2 seconds longer, and gives 1 extra second of immunity after leaving aura. Troops entering the aura during activation also benefit.
- Many early-game buildings and troops had their stats tweaked to improve early play pace.
Training & Interface Improvements
Army Training got a smoother UI:
- Change hero skins and rotate hero models from the training screen.
- Drag and reorder heroes, troops, and spells—your battle layout stays consistent.
- Tap alerts to read more info.
- Builder Base’s Elixir Cart now holds more.
Shop & Account Changes
- Amazon Appstore support ends. Players must link to their Supercell ID to keep their progress.
- Global Pricing testing expands. Prices now adjust to local economies and may vary even within the same country.
- Supercell ID Guest accounts are auto-created for tutorial finishers or existing players without an ID. These can be upgraded to full accounts.
Bug Fixes & Polish
A long list of fixes improves stability:
- Healers now stay locked on their target.
- Starter challenge button, friendly war troop levels, Super Yeti bugs, spring traps, UI issues, and more have been fixed.
- New: Polish language available. Friendly Wars can now be 2v2 or 3v3. Spells, traps, hero VFX, trader shop previews, and shop info links got visual or usability updates.
